Instructor Training

PREPARING YOUR PILOTS FOR THEIR NEW ROLES AS TYPE RATING OR SYNTHETIC-FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

From Pilot to Instructor

SHARE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE AS A TYPE RATING INSTRUCTOR

Experienced pilots are immensely important for training their junior peers. But a good pilot isn’t necessarily a good instructor.

Pilots who would like to work as instructors need an instructor rating in accordance with EASA Part-FCL. We prepare them for their new roles in our Instructor Training courses with a thorough theoretical framework and intensive practice.

The theoretical portion of the training can be carried out at one of our 12 training sites or even at the location of the respective participant. The practical aspect of the course takes place in a realistic setting: one of our many full flight simulators around the world. All common Airbus, Boeing, and Bombardier aircraft types families are available.

Type Rating Instructor (TRI)

Our eight-day Type Rating Instructor course is designed for pilots who would like to become an instructor for the aircraft type for which he/she has a type rating. The course can also be completed as an SFI (synthetic flight instructor) course.

The Type Rating Instructor course consists of three phases:

  1. Teaching and learning
  2. Technical instruction and self-study
  3. Nonstandard seat familiarization, airplane training/intervention strategies/teaching under supervision/assessment of competences.

Type Rating Instructor Extension (TRI Extension)

Our five-day TRI Extension source is designed for pilots who are already TRI or SFI instructors but who would now like to become instructors for an additional aircraft type for which they do not have the type rating. The course can also be done as a SFI (synthetic flight instructor) course.

Because the basic teaching skills are already taught as part of the TRI course, the Type Rating Instructor Extension course only consists of two phases:

  1. Technical instruction and self-study
  2. Nonstandard seat familiarization, airplane training/intervention strategies/teaching under supervision/assessment of competences.
